Patrick J Doherty
Born in Derryreel, Falcarragh in 1948, the 2nd eldest of nine children. Patrick grew up at a time greatly different from today, and like many others emigrated to England. In 1969 he returned to Ireland where he started his own construction business.
The business soon expanded to include a growing list of commercial developments, retail outlets, factories, warehousing, private housing and more recently refurbishing the 4 star An Chuirt Hotel and Leisure Centre of which he is an owner. He has an extensive range of private houses, apartments, commercial units and warehouses in the rental market.
Patrick was awarded Letterkenny Business Person of the Year in 1992 and again in 2005, and Gweedore Business Person of the Year in 2004. This is a fantastic achievement for one person.
